The Yangtze River
The Yangtze river from the plains of Tibet is the longest river in China 3rd longest river in the world flows for 6,418 kilometers. The most important sections of the river is the three Yangtze River gorges: the Qutang Gorge, the Wuxia Gorge and the Xiling Gorge. They are known as the three gorges. The Yangtze River is the home basin for 1/3 of China and the Yangtze River Delta is responsible for 20% of China's GDP(wikipedia 2013)

The Qutang Gorge the first of the three gorges in between the Baiyan Mountain and the Chihia Mountain is only 8 kilometres (5.0 mi) long, but it is also the narrowest of the Three Gorges. The widest point measures only 150 metres (500 ft) wide.(wikipedia 2013)

The Xiling Gorge is the longest of the 3 gorges and consist of 4 seperate gorges know as the Precious Sword, Horse Lung & Ox Liver, Soundless Bell, and Shadow Play Gorges.(wikipedia 2013)
